By Suha Abrahim

Twenty-Four hours after the strike in Doha, capital of Qatar, Israel carried out strikes in Sanaa the capital of Yemen and al-Jawf governate. Yemen’s ministry of health confirmed that thirty-five people have been killed and 131 injured. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated these strikes were in response to a drone strike by the Houthis earlier in the week on the Israeli Ramon Airport. The Houthi strike resulted in a shutdown of the airports operations for several hours.

The strikes, as stated by Israels military, targeted military camps, the public information department, and fuel storage site. The Yemeni ministry of health said the strikes hit residential and civilian areas, government compounds, and a medical facility in the southwest of the country.

The Israeli military has continuously bombed Yemen since October 7th in response to the Houthis attacks on Israel to show support for Gaza. The strikes have hit airports, killed civilians, and damaged the country’s infrastructure. On August 30th, Israel assassinated the Houthi prime minister Ahmed al Rahawi and other officials during a cabinet meeting in Yemen.
